Hot Seat · 3–14 players

How to play Hot Seat

One prompt. One private vote. One reveal the whole party can react to. Mix normal questions with one A/B/C/D spotlight per player, then discover your group’s superlatives. No points, no overall winner.

How to play

  1. Read the Who’s Most Likely To prompt.
  2. Nominate a player, or choose a reaction for the person in the spotlight. They never need to answer.
  3. Reveal the votes together. Finish with playful superlatives based on this match.

No speeches or explanations are required. Go with your first instinct.

Before you start

Bring 3–14 people. Everyone needs a phone or computer for private votes. The host chooses a prompt pack that suits the group; the person in the spotlight never has to answer a question.

Estimated time for six players with default settings: About 5 min. Discussion and host settings can change this.

Voice and conversation

No voice chat is needed. Players vote privately on their own screens.

Example round

A practice prompt asks who would pack snacks for a short walk. Everyone privately nominates a friend; the reveal shows the group's picks. The nominated person does not have to answer.

A useful tip

Use the first match to learn the group's sense of humor; keep nominations kind.

Most Likely To questions, with a private vote

Hot Seat turns a familiar conversation game into a shared reveal. Each person votes on their own screen, so the loudest friend does not choose for everyone. There are no points to chase or overall winner.

For a warm-up, choose questions about harmless habits, everyday mishaps and imaginary adventures. Our original question ideas work for conversation; PartyBox supplies the prompts during a live Hot Seat match.
